Priority Areas, Beacon Areas and Sentinel Watersheds along Lake Huron’s Southeast Shore
There are six priority watershed areas – sentinel watersheds and beacon areas – identified because they are areas that require protection or areas that require remediation.
Long-term monitoring is taking place in these watersheds as well as project implementation and evaluation – the lessons learned here can be applied throughout the southeast shore of Lake Huron and the Lake Huron-Georgian Bay Watershed.
